The Top Load Washer Lid Lock Assembly prevents the washer lid from opening during the wash and spin cycles. This part is designed to be used with select Whirlpool®, Maytag® and Kenmore® washing machines; check to see if your model number is compatible. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washing machine or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off the hot and cold water supplies.
